Jappy's Bark

We are still stuck in our evacuation center ( a.k.a Greenwoods Pet Clinic), can you dogs believe it? They say the city's drainage system is clogged with garbage and water lilies thats why its taking forever for the flood to disappear from our streets. Buhuhu.

The Secretary visited us today and in particular, read me a story about the Great Flood.It gave me an idea...

Jappy's 72 hours survival kit:
1. mineral water
2. treats, biscuits, ready to eat food
3. toys
4. pillows
5. fart bottle ( to survive Moy's lethal gas)

The Tale of My Wheelies

In January 2009, I was officially adoptedby my Animal Doctor and his wife, the Secretary.

My new Mom could not bear to see me struggle with my paralysis. In September, she hatched a crazy plan to get me a professionally made wheelchair. It seemed crazy then because she had no idea where or how to get me that wheelchair. With 6 rescue dogs in addition to the 9 she originally have, money was only good to spend on food and basic health necessities.

Mom applied for financial assistance to Labrador Life Line, an organization helping needy labradors in the US. LLL approved a 500US$ financial assistance to purchase my quadcart from Eddie's Wheels which could cost between 800-1200 US$. Mom had to raise the remaining funds to purchase the wheels and to pay for shipping.

Mom got cold feet because she's never raised funds before. But our friends were there to help us. Some gave up money for their toys and treats to chip in to my wheelchair fund; others sent encouragements so Mom would not give up. And there were some who unselfishly shared a spot in their blog to spread my story. I could not believe it, but we were able to raise the money needed to purchase and ship my wheelchair! And the extra good news is, Eddie's Wheels gave us a discount on account of my being a rescued dog.

On January 28, 2010, my wheelchair finally arrived in the Philippines. This is it, my dream finally happening. I owe it to all of you.
